There are the Map of Premier League teams: Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga, and Ligue 1. In 1992, the 22 Premier League teams split from the Football League to create their own competition.

There are now 20 clubs in the Premier League, including some household names. Our guide gives you all the pertinent details on the factions involved in the 2020–21 campaign.

Arsenal

In 1886, Arsenal was established in south London; 27 years later, it relocated to the north of the city. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, when Arsene Wenger coached the team to three trophies, it had its finest run in the Premier League. Arsenal were the first team to go an entire season without losing since Preston North End in 1888/89 during the final of those in 2003/04.

Before its relegation in 2016, Aston Villa was one of the Premier League’s ever-present teams. Only five English teams have won the European Cup, with Villa lifting the trophy after a 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich in 1982.

Burnley

Burnley is one of the less financially successful clubs in the Premier League, yet the team has won the title of English champion twice, in 1920–1921 and 1959–1960. An excellent example of a traditional English soccer stadium is the team’s home ground, Turf Moor.

Chelsea

Before 2004 when Roman Abramovich, a Russian tycoon, purchased Chelsea, the club had only won one league championship. The Blues have since grown to be among the most well-liked and renowned teams worldwide. Chelsea consistently contends for major awards, and in 2012 it won the European championship for the first time ever.

Crystal Palace

South London-based Palace has spent a large portion of recent history bouncing between the top two English soccer divisions. The club recently proclaimed its wish to be recognised as the oldest professional organisation in the world, contending that its original founding year was 1861. Their Selhurst Park stadium is renowned for providing a tremendous atmosphere.

Everton

Everton has frequently been viewed as Liverpool’s inferior over the course of its nearly 150-year history despite being positioned only 3169 feet away. However, it is a historic club in its own right, having participated continuously in the Premier League since its inception in 1992 and winning nine league championships, an accomplishment shared by only five other teams.

Fulham

Fulham is a west London-based football club with a picturesque stadium located on the banks of the River Thames. 30,000 fans can fit inside the stadium after renovations are finished.

Leeds United

In 2020, Leeds rejoined the Premier League following a 16-year sabbatical. It is one of England’s oldest clubs and has three distinct league championships. The 1992 victory was the final one before the First Division changed its name to the Premier League.

Leicester City

When Leicester won the 2015–16 Premier League, it was the most historic title win in English football history. The club wants to remain at the top on a long-term basis in the years to come by using that achievement as a springboard.

Liverpool

In the history of the English Premier League, Liverpool has won 19 championships. No British side has won more European Cups or Champions Leagues, and over the years, Anfield has been home to many players of the highest calibre.

Manchester City

Since 2010, City have been among the Premier League’s most successful teams, but the team actually spent some time in the third tier in the late 1990s. As a result of Sheikh Mansour’s takeover of City in 2008, Man City are currently among the most powerful teams in the English Premier League.

Manchester United

This team have more league championships (20) than any other English football team. Between 1992–1993 and 2012–2013, legendary manager Alex Ferguson was in charge of thirteen of those victories. The biggest club stadium in the nation, Old Trafford, is where United play their home games.

Newcastle United

In English football, Newcastle is largely regarded as a sleeping giant. The team has only won four championships since its founding in 1892, despite having a sizable stadium and a devoted fan base. In the middle of the 1990s, the Magpies twice finished second in the Premier League, but more recently, they played in the Championship for two seasons.

Sheffield United

One of the relatively rare organizations that still uses its original stadium is Sheffield United. Bramall Lane is the oldest significant stadium in the world still used for professional soccer matches. The stadium was built in 1885, before Sheffield United was founded. In 1897/98, the club claimed their lone top-flight championship.

Southampton

Prior to their relegation in 2004/05, Southampton had 26 consecutive seasons in the top division of England. Prior to their return to the Premier League in 2012, the Saints had dropped as low as the third division. Since then, they have occasionally threatened the top four.

Tottenham

Currently, Tottenham is part of the “big six,” but this was not always the case. From 1992 to 2009, Spurs dominated the middle of the table. The team hosts its games at the newest stadium in the Premier League, which opened in 2019.

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom have experienced four relegations from the Premier League and five promotions since the league’s inception, making them somewhat of a yo-yo squad. The Hawthorns, where they play at home, is the highest point in England.

West Ham

Despite never having claimed a league championship, West Ham is a well-known name in English soccer. The fact that several members of England’s 1966 World Cup-winning team played club football for the east London team contributes to this. In 2016, West Ham relocated from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium in London.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Typically, Wolves is used to refer to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Midlands team is the only Premier League team to wear mostly gold uniforms, and the 1950s were its golden age, when they won three league championships. Since 1889, Molineux has served as the home of Wolves, making it one of the Premier League’s older venues.
